Carlsberg Sort Guld is a golden, straw yellow and strong lager with a lush and finely meshed foam. A beer with a refreshingly dry body with a more marked bitterness than ordinary Carlsberg pilsner. The aroma is clean and inviting with notes of malt and mild fruitiness. 

Originally, the strong lager was brewed for export, but was introduced to the domestic market in 1978 under the name Carlsberg 25. The name was changed to Carlsberg Sort Guld in 1984 under the slogan "the night is black as gold". Carlsberg Black Gold is Carlsberg Pilsner's big brother - with Black Gold you get a strong pilsner with a little more of everything; more golden colour, more malt, more flavor and more bitterness.

Carlsberg Sort Gold strong lager is a suitable beer for pan- or wok-fried chicken, pork and prawns with spices and fresh herbs. Carlsberg Black Gold is also extremely suitable for the classic smørrebrød table.
